THE PATH OF BRUSH, the hidden meaning in a tattoo

in this short article of the section “PSICO DESIGN – the psychology of the drawings” we address the meaning and symbolism of the PATH OF BRUSH from a mythical or primordial point of view, to apply it in the portrayal of the tattoo

Anyway, we speak of fairytales that make us dream, there’s no time for science here

The prefrontal cortex has no ground here, we move within the emotions of the limbic brain or the instinct of the reptilian brain

in Japan the art of calligraphy is serious stuff

in short, I’ve been studying calligraphy for years now, but in the west it does not have the importance it has in the east

THE PATH OF BRUSH is an ancient ritual that prepares you for life,

essential to life I would say

in the east, a samurai before holding a sword, holds a brush

he trains with brush and if he can’t hold a brush, imagine if he can be ready for the sword, or even worse, for the fight

for this reason a samurai wakes up in the morning and starts with meditation

he has to find mental balance

the void

no distractions

concentration

the moment to be ready

mind remains free and wrist starts to warm up

small motor exercises to warm up the joint,

then he holds the brush and starts to draw some circles with the brush in the sheet corner, in order to test if the joint is warm

the first circle is the bigger one, then, as the circle turns out well, it starts to draw one smaller and so on…until the circle is really small, which means the wrist is warm and firm and the samurai has the full control of movement

now he can start writing

the sheet is blank, but with a series of smaller and smaller balls in the sheet corner, free mind, ready wrist, concentration

now he’s ready to start

now you are ready to start

you have all you need

what do you waiting for?

with love,
